Plastic Reduction Initiatives
The commission is backing a push for a Virginia bottle bill — a container-deposit recycling law like Oregon's. Jaimi O'Keefe made a recorded pitch, and the commission plans to spread the word and promote the petition. The October 1 "Bag It" film screening and fall cleanups are part of the same push.
Keep Norfolk Beautiful Engagement
The commission will debrief this year's Arbor Day and plan a November 18 fundraiser that needs two trees. It's part of the city's push toward 30% tree canopy coverage.
